I wish to be a Soldier, meet Army Chief & participate in parade at Wagah Border

Ruba Raffique, a 15 year old brave girl, fighting against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia shared her heartiest wish to be a soldier in Pak Army to serve the nation showcasing her patriotism, and wanted to meet the Army Chief along with being a part of Parade at Wagah Border. Fighting against this disease this little girl didn’t wish for something ordinary but a shear example of bravery and Courage to work for the nation and fight against the anti-nation powers. Her wish was granted on 26th March 2019. Being a unique wish of its type it wasn’t easy to fulfill it, however Make A Wish Foundation Team made it possible with collaboration with the Pakistan Army and Rangers. All arrangements were made in Napier Lodges’ she was given a warm welcome by the team presented a bouquet to her. She rested there for a day and then went for a visit to Yadgar e shuhada, where she performed a ritual by laying the wreath along with Army individuals. Next she was taken to Army Museum where the Army person guided her about each and everything present in the museum making it an informative session for Ruba. She got a chance to meet core commander Lt. Gen. Majid Ahsaan at 4 Core Head Quarter Lahore who helped a lot to make this wish come true. She was brought back to Napier Lodges where she rested for a couple of hours and made herself relaxed, and had lunch after a tiring day. Her trip didn’t end here, she was further taken to AK-REGT where she was given Guard of honor which is itself a great honor usually performed for higher dignitaries of Army and Government. Last but not the least, Ruba wanted to see live parade session at the Wagah Border and so she was treated as a VIP guest there under the guidance of Col. Usman and Maj. Saad. Hence her name was announced before she was escorted to her VIP seating area right in front where the ceremony was taking place which was a huge honor for the little girl and brought a big smile on her face for which we are thankful to Pak Army for facilitating the young lioness for her patriotism.
