I wish to meet my hero WWE Star John Cena
Seventeen-year-old Tanzil; diagnosed with muscular dystrophy when he four years old, has always been a huge fan of WWE wrestling champion John Cena. He has followed WWE and John Cena since he was twelve years old. Tanzil was granted a Make-A-Wish through his Make-A-Wish chapter in his hometown, Pakistan and was assisted by the local Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana chapter. When volunteers asked Tanzil about his one true wish, he immediately knew that he wanted to meet John Cena. Tanzil and his family were able to travel from Pakistan to Columbus, Ohio over the Fourth of July to attend WWE Monday Night RAW. Once at the arena, Tanzil was able to have a private meet and greet with his wrestling hero, John Cena, where he was presented with a number of autographed items and swag matching what Cena was wearing during the upcoming event. Tanzil’s family then presented Cena with a gift from their country, Pakistani clothing that is traditionally worn for special occasions. Cena immediately placed the shawl around his neck and proudly wore the cap. Tanzil took many pictures with Cena and was able to talk to him about the different matches he participated in with other famous WWE wrestlers. Tanzil has watched every WWE event that Cena has participated in and asked Cena to quiz him. Tanzil got every answer correct! After the meet and greet, Tanzil and his family were escorted to VIP seats to watch WWE Monday Night RAW. Tanzil’s wish experience was truly an once-in-a-lifetime event! Tanzil and family said “they wished the night would last forever.”

For Rocco, the chance to hang out with the WWE Superstar will be a wish-come-true. For Cena, the meeting will be his 500th opportunity to bring hope and optimism to a wish child battling a life-threatening medical condition. Watch Cena surprise Rocco on NBC’s “Today” Since the founding of Make-A-Wish in 1980, no other celebrity has granted as many wishes as Cena.
