Cellular phones have definitely become the prime inventions of today and many young children are quiet obsessed to have one of their own. Make-A-Wish Foundation Pakistan granted the most cherished wish of Amir Ali who longed to possess a mobile phone of his own as his parent cannot afford to buy it for Amir.

Amir Ali, a 10 years old boy is a patient of Thalassemia Major. When our volunteers visited him at a local hospital in Hyderabad, he interacted with them cheerfully and confessed his desire for a mobile phone with camera and other additional features. Poor boy, used to borrow his uncle’s mobile phone for communicating with his relatives. Moreover, playing ample of games on mobile phone was the best way to kill boredom according to Amir. On the day of the wish-granting, Amir Ali traveled to Karachi, all the way from Hyderabad, despite a fractured leg.
He was totally stunned and his happiness continued for the rest of the day. When asked, who would he call first from his very own ‘Personal’ mobile phone, Amir answered that he will make the first call to Make-A-Wish Foundation Pakistan as it has brought beautiful moments of joy and ecstasy to his life. Mr Mahmood Shaam, Group Editor of the largest circulating Urdu language newspaper, Daily Jang was the honorable Chief Guest for this special evening.
